This unique trip from Maun to Chobe with stops in the Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai Community Reserve, Savuti and Chobe National Park is an amazing way to explore the beauty of Botswana. During either green or dry season, you will be able to explore the region in its most magnificent state.
Pick-up from Maun international airport or at your accommodation by a professional safari guide. A short introduction and brief on what to expect on your safari before heading out for Moremi Game Reserve through Shorobe. The drive will take about 3-4 hours depending on what you see on the way. The game drive technically starts once we have passed the Buffalo fence.
Packed lunch, tea basket, drinks, and snacks will be carried with us. A support team/ back-up vehicle go ahead of us, that is a day before your safari to set up the camp .Arrive late afternoon at the camp spot, a warm welcome from the safari staff, introductions, shower, siesta before dinner around the fire with your safari guide. Overnight sleep in a canvas tent.
An early morning wake up call for tea or coffee with breakfast as per clients food preferences, before we go out for our first morning game drive in Moremi. Remember we have 2 more nights here.
Situated in the central and eastern areas of the Okavango. It includes the Moremi Tongue and Chief's Island, boasting one of the continent's wealthiest and most diverse ecosystems, this makes Moremi Game Reserve a spectacular game viewing and bird watching area. It is one of the best regions for over 400 different bird species, many migratory and some endangered species. We aim to make it full day game drives for the best experience of this habitat. We sometimes havea bush lunch. Boat cruise is possible here at an extra cost (OPTIONAL).
We return to the camp late afternoon before we go out for sundowners. After an adventurous day, spend the evening enjoying delicious cuisine, share you days experience with your safari guide, highlights on what to expect the next day, before retiring.
Up with the dawn, you will greet the beauty of this extraordinary landscape coffee and rusk in hand. Today you have another early start. We will leave camp just after sunrise carry our bags as we move for Khwai community reserve, one of Botswana's best kept secrets. Khwai Reserve abounds with some of the country’s most abundant sightings of lions, African wild dogs, leopards, and hyenas. Here we can go off-road to encounter wildlife very closer,though we not forget to take care of animal’s comfort zone. We spend 2 nights here , we have a chance to go for evening drives . Mokoro Dugout canoe is possible at an extra cost(OPTIONAL).
Wake up early. Have a light breakfast, break camp and say goodbye to Khwai, before setting off on 4-5 hour’s drive to your campsite in Savuti. Game view on transit, you shall have a rest in camp before you go out for sundown drinks always available for this activity.
Return to camp for brunch and a siesta before heading out for a late afternoon game drive. A late afternoon into evening game drive will take you exploring other areas of the concession a chance to find nocturnal beauties.
Savuti is the most remote and drier part of the Chobe National Park, and well known as the land of the Giants mainly because of the famous lion pride (The Mash Pride) which used to actively hunt Elephants, It also known as the predator paradise because of the number of predators seen in the area.Wildlife Department has made some artificial water holes to keep all the animals within the area. Most of the game drives are done around the Savuti Marsh area and around all the different water holes where most of the animals are found because of the quality grazing opportunity which attracts most of the big cats or predators in general.
You have 2 nights 3 days in Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park is famed for its massive elephant’s populations, big herds of buffalo matched by some large lion prides and incredible birdlife, Chobe National Park will leave an everlasting memory, unforgettable safari experience.Full day game drives,sundown is the main focus here,boat cruise is more recommended at an extra cost before end of Safari in Kasane or option to extend with one or two nights in Victoria Falls.
Please note that this safari itinerary can also be reversed, so you start in Kasane and end in Maun.
Your drive to Kasane will be in the form of a game drive as you will be driving through the Chobe National Park, until you reach Kasane.
We highly recommend visiting Vic Falls after your safari. 2 nights at the Lodge will give you plenty of time to experience the wonders of the Falls. Go on a helicopter ride, do a sunset cruise on the Zambezi river or if you are adventurous go for bungy jumping, river rafting or sliding across the gorge. Drop-off in Kasane or transfer to Vic-falls .
